[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Thinkware announced on the 3rd that it will release the 6.86cm (2.7-inch) black box 'iNavi QXD5500 Mini' with enhanced video quality.

The iNavi QXD5500 Mini features improved video quality from QHD to FHD compared to previous models, and it offers more than twice the video storage and extended parking recording time.

For video storage, the device maintains the quality of front and rear continuous recording files while compressing the file size by up to about 50%, enabling improved video file storage compared to previous models through the 'Memory Saving' mode.

The parking recording function also applies the 'Low Power Parking Recording' solution used in previous premium products, supporting long-term parking recording for up to 137 hours when an auxiliary battery is installed during parking.

Additionally, it supports various functions tailored for long-term parking, such as the 'Time Lapse' feature that captures slow-motion footage at a set interval of 2 frames per second, periodic memory formatting, and 'Format Free 2.0,' which allows users to check recorded videos directly on their phones and PCs without separate conversion.

Moreover, it is equipped with advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features that support safe driving, including ▲Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS) ▲Front Vehicle Start Alert (FVSA) ▲Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) ▲Safe Driving Guide Assistant, enhancing driver convenience.

In particular, Thinkware explained that four new features have been added to enhance safety: ▲'Parking Impact Alert,' which sends real-time notifications and transmits front images up to 10 times a day upon parking impact ▲'Driving Record Data Service,' which allows checking driving distance and habits ▲'Consumable Alert,' which notifies when vehicle consumables such as tires and engine oil need replacement ▲'Emergency SOS Alert,' which sends emergency text messages to pre-registered guardians in case of a major impact during driving.

The iNavi QXD5500 Mini also incorporates features such as automatic high-temperature shutdown, battery discharge prevention, and fast boot solutions, and offers a free A/S service for two years upon purchase.

To commemorate the product launch, Thinkware is running a promotion until the 12th, offering product discounts as well as free installation vouchers, GPS antennas, and wireless charging mounts.

A Thinkware representative said, "'iNavi QXD5500 Mini' is the first 2.7-inch compact black box equipped with QHD quality and upgraded 'Connected Standard Plus,' supporting improved video quality and various safety functions during driving. It is a black box product that satisfies users in terms of size, design, performance, and cost-effectiveness."

The launch price for the basic package is 299,000 KRW for the 32GB model and 349,000 KRW for the 64GB model. For the Connected Standard Plus package, the 32GB model is priced at 379,000 KRW and the 64GB model at 429,000 KRW.
