Chosun University Hospital Designated as Global Excellence 'Spine Endoscopy Surgery Center'

Professor Juchangil, Neurosurgery, Appointed as International Advisory Doctor for 'RIWOspine'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Hospital Spine Center Minimally Invasive Clinic (Minimally Invasive Clinic Director Ju Chang-il) announced on the 3rd that it was recently designated as a Global Excellent Spine Endoscopy Surgery Center by the German spine endoscopy specialist company ‘RIWOspine’.

RIWOspine is a medical company headquartered in Germany that has been leading spine endoscopy surgery for 20 years. It develops its own medical instruments and conducts clinical verification to ensure safe and successful surgeries through standardized surgical techniques.

In particular, it independently develops and manufactures medical devices such as 4K endoscopic cameras, imaging equipment, and radiofrequency therapy devices, distributes them worldwide, and operates spine endoscopy centers in major countries to educate many doctors.

Following Seoul National University Hospital, Gangnam St. Mary’s Hospital, and Kyung Hee University Hospital, it was designated as the fourth excellent spine endoscopy surgery center in Korea.

Additionally, Neurosurgery Professor Ju Chang-il was appointed as the fourth international advisory doctor in Korea, and will jointly conduct development and research on spine endoscopy with RIWOspine in the future.

Ju Chang-il, Director of the Spine Center Minimally Invasive Clinic (Neurosurgery Professor), said, “Chosun University Hospital introduced spine endoscopy surgery in 2006 and has rich surgical experience and know-how, performing more than 200 surgeries annually until recently,” adding, “With this designation as an excellent spine endoscopy surgery center, we will be able to further enhance the quality of medical services in the field of spine endoscopy surgery.”

Meanwhile, Chosun University Hospital was selected as the first ‘Spine Endoscopy Surgery International Education Center’ in the Honam region by the ‘Korean Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery’ in 2020. Through close collaboration among specialized spine treatment faculty, it provides the best treatment methods to patients, achieving high patient satisfaction.
