“Join Hello TV and Participate in Plogging” LG Hello, 'Love the Earth Walk' Campaign

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG HelloVision announced on the 3rd that it will carry out the ‘#Walk for a Better Earth’ campaign with its customers. MZ generation customers who subscribe through the online direct shop will receive a plogging kit that can be used for picking up trash during outdoor activities. Plogging is a compound word of the Swedish 'plocka upp,' meaning 'to pick up,' and the English 'jogging,' meaning running, referring to the activity of picking up trash while jogging.


Accordingly, LG HelloVision will give a ‘Hello Plogging Kit’ to 300 customers who subscribe to Hello TV and Hello Internet through the LG HelloVision online direct shop during the month of August. The kit contains a recycling bag and plastic bags necessary for plogging. Customers can participate in plogging by picking up trash around them during outdoor activities such as walking or hiking.


The ‘Hello Plogging Kit’ is made up of eco-friendly products from the components to the packaging. It includes ▲a recycling bag made from recycled PET bottles ▲a hand sanitizer made with edible ethanol ▲an eco-friendly cotton handkerchief ▲biodegradable plastic bags and gloves, all packed in a paper box that requires no packing tape for delivery.


To promote the plogging culture, an SNS event will also be held. Ten customers who participate in plogging and share a verification photo on SNS with hashtags such as ‘#WalkforaBetterEarth’ and ‘#HelloPloggingKit’ will receive a 10,000 KRW gift certificate. It is expected to raise interest in plogging mainly among the MZ generation and spread positive influence.


Choi Jae-wook, head of DBM at LG HelloVision, said, “As the number of MZ generation customers in the direct shop is increasing recently, we have prepared a special campaign that can protect both health and the environment, which are major concerns of this generation,” adding, “We expect this to be a good opportunity to increase satisfaction among MZ generation customers who value ethical consumption and to promote LG HelloVision’s ESG management efforts.”
