[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Dong-guk] Gyeongbuk Province announced that, together with Daegu City and Daegu National University of Education, it will conduct an 'Education ODA Online Training' for elementary school teachers from its sister city in Vietnam for five weeks from the 2nd to the 31st.
'ODA' (Official Development Assistance) refers to public development aid provided by developed countries to developing countries or international organizations. This training aims to link with the central government's New Southern Policy and to brand ODA projects that leverage the strengths of Gyeongbuk and Daegu.
Gyeongbuk Province will provide tailored training to elementary school teachers in Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam, its sister city, including ▲ Korea's elementary education curriculum ▲ health and hygiene fields, and, depending on the COVID-19 situation, will also conduct on-site educational practice offline at specialized elementary schools in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, emphasized, "Based on the experience of Saemaul Globalization, we will present a new ODA education model to expand relations with the Vietnamese region after COVID-19 and lead exchanges with New Southern countries."
Meanwhile, since 2005, Gyeongbuk Province has maintained a sister city relationship with Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam, and in 2017 established a friendly exchange with Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, actively engaging in exchanges across various fields such as economy, culture, and agriculture.
