[Asia Economy Kim Hyun-jun, Golf Specialist Reporter] "Truly the Golf Queen."

51-year-old Annika Sorenstam (Sweden) won immediately in her senior tour debut. On the 2nd (Korean time) at the Brooklawn Golf Club (par 72) in Fairfield, Connecticut, USA, she shot 4-under par on the final day of the US Senior Women's Open to achieve a commanding 8-stroke victory (12-under par 276). The fact that this was her first senior tour appearance is newsworthy. It was her first official tournament since the European Ladies Professional Golf Tour (LET) Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open in November 2008, marking a 13-year gap.

During her active career, Sorenstam secured a total of 72 wins, including 10 major victories on the LPGA Tour. She was the money leader and Player of the Year eight times, and led in scoring average six times, truly a 'living golf legend.' After retiring abruptly in 2008, she focused on personal business but participated as a celebrity in the Diamond Resorts Tournament in February and advanced to the main event at the Gainbridge LPGA in March, demonstrating her undiminished skills.

Starting the day with a 2-stroke lead, she recorded five birdies and one bogey. It is interesting that 4-under par was the daily best score. Sorenstam also exclaimed, "Every shot was good," and "I knew exactly what I had to do today." Her husband Mike McGee served as her caddie, and her daughter Ava (11) and son Will (10) came as gallery members, adding a special touch of family love. Liselotte Neumann (Sweden) finished second (4-under par 284), and Laura Davies (England) took third place (3-under par 285).
