[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Dongyang Steel Pipe, a comprehensive large-diameter steel pipe specialist company under KBI Group (CEO Han Heungsu), announced on the 2nd that it has signed a contract to supply steel pipe piles for the construction of storage tanks No. 1 to 4 in Phase 1 of the Dangjin LNG Terminal with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction.

Through this contract, Dongyang Steel Pipe will supply approximately 60,000 tons of steel pipe piles to Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction from October 30 of this year until June 30 of next year.

Notably, the volume of this contract is more than half of last year's production of about 110,000 tons, making it the largest single contract since the company's listing in 1977.

The steel pipe piles to be supplied this time are characterized by excellent penetration performance, capable of withstanding strong impact forces and having high lower-layer bearing capacity, reaching the safety layer. Due to their high bearing capacity and horizontal resistance, and strong resistance to lateral pressure, they will be used in construction to prevent ground subsidence of storage tanks.

A Dongyang Steel Pipe official stated, “This contract is a case where the excellence and safety of Dongyang Steel Pipe’s products were recognized by a domestic company,” adding, “We will strengthen our sales activities through aggressive marketing and do our best to achieve the highest performance this year as well.”
