[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Naver is joining hands with Kookmin University to support platform entrepreneurs.
On the 2nd, Naver announced that it will strengthen related education and networking support so that platform entrepreneurs can acquire expertise and expand the scope of their business.
Naver and Kookmin University Graduate School of Global Startup Ventures signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in June to open an executive course for the growth and educational support of platform entrepreneurs and have been collaborating on developing a specialized educational curriculum.
The executive course for platform entrepreneurs, operated by Kookmin University Graduate School of Global Startup Ventures and sponsored by Naver, targets CEOs and executives who started with platform entrepreneurship and are leading companies. Participants are being recruited until the 11th.
The course consists of various educational curricula that provide business insights, including understanding the market and trends surrounding big data and the platform economy, business strategies and leadership helpful for corporate management, and cultivation of humanities literacy. Experts from various fields such as professors, industry professionals, and political figures participate as speakers.
From September, the program will be operated as a 12-week integrated online and offline program. Outstanding successful candidates of the executive course will receive a scholarship, and all graduates will be awarded a certificate of completion for the executive course.
Han Seong-sook, CEO of Naver, said, "We have focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) growing to company scale on the Naver platform during the rapid growth of the e-commerce market," adding, "We plan to continue advanced support in collaboration with academia so that platform entrepreneurs, who are becoming a new economic pillar by increasing employment and sales, can take a step further."
