Ryu Seong-hyeon (19, Korea National Sport University) narrowly missed out on a medal in his first-ever Olympic appearance in artistic gymnastics. On the 1st, at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre in Tokyo, Japan, during the men's floor exercise final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he scored 14.233 points, finishing in 4th place. He attempted a skill with a difficulty of 7.0 points but received a lower execution score of 7.533 compared to the qualifiers. After a deduction of 0.3 points, he failed to enter the medal positions. Earlier, Kim Han-sol (26, Seoul City Hall), who went first on the floor, attempted a skill with a difficulty of 6.3 but earned an execution score of only 6.766, placing 8th with a total of 13.066 points. The gold medal went to Israel's Artem Dolgopyat, who attempted a skill with a difficulty of 6.2 and earned an execution score of 8.433, totaling 14.933 points.
