[Weather] Rain Until Tomorrow Morning... Heatwave and Tropical Nights Continue

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Rain is expected across the country until the morning of the 2nd.

As of 4 PM on the 1st, the Korea Meteorological Administration announced that heavy rain warnings have been issued for the southern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, Chungbuk, Gyeongbuk region, northern Jeonbuk, and Jeonnam islands (Heuksando and Hongdo), with rain falling nationwide.

Very heavy rain exceeding 30mm per hour is falling in the inland areas of Gangwon, while strong rain of 15 to 30mm per hour is occurring in Jeonbuk, Chungbuk, and the Gyeongbuk region. There are also places experiencing gusty winds accompanied by thunder and lightning.

From midnight to 4 PM today, the rainfall amounts at major locations are as follows: 11.5mm in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul; 9.5mm on Mokdeokdo, Ongjin-gun, Incheon; 37.5mm in Sabuk-eup, Jeongseon, Gangwon; 36.9mm in Taebaek; 32.0mm in Pyeongchang; 50.0mm on Oeyeondo, Boryeong, Chungnam; 29.5mm in Danyang, Chungbuk; 22.0mm on Bukgyeokryeolbido, Taean, Chungnam; 68.5mm on Eocheongdo, Gunsan, Jeonbuk; 60.0mm on Hongdo, Sinan, Jeonnam; 27.5mm on Imjado; 51.0mm in Duseo-myeon, Ulju, Ulsan; 46.0mm in Cheongdo, Gyeongbuk; 37.6mm in Gyeongju; and 30.0mm in Hwaseo-myeon, Sangju.

Rain is expected to continue until night in the inland areas of Jeolla and Gyeongnam, and until the morning of the 2nd in the central region and western Gyeongbuk.

From daytime to nighttime on the 2nd, very heavy rain exceeding 50mm per hour is forecasted for the Yeongseo and southern inland areas of Gangwon.

With heatwave warnings issued nationwide, daytime temperatures are expected to remain around 33 degrees Celsius for the time being.
