[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] Jeong Se-gyun, former Prime Minister and presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, warned the People Power Party not to mention former President Roh Moo-hyun.

Today (1st), Jeong posted on his Facebook titled "People Power Party, do not disgrace President Roh Moo-hyun." He said, "I demand this from the politicians of the People Power Party," and added, "Do not summon former President Roh for political purposes with your words anymore."

This remark is interpreted as targeting People Power Party figures who criticized the Democratic Party by invoking the "Roh Moo-hyun spirit." Earlier, on the 29th, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, said, "If former President Roh were alive, he would be appalled by the current media law," adding, "In the past, former President Roh pursued policies promoting media diversity," and "(the Democratic Party's forced passage of the media reform bill) goes against the Roh Moo-hyun spirit."

In response, Jeong said, "The people have never forgotten. They sent off former President Roh with tears and anger of 'Jimutmi' (sorry for not protecting you)," and added, "We clearly remember your past when you led the impeachment of former President Roh and mocked him with unmentionable abusive language."

Jeong pointed out, "You, who mobilized political prosecutors, the National Intelligence Service, and conservative media to mutilate one person and drive him to death, have never offered a single word of reflection or sincere apology until now." He continued, "Did you not hear the people's wails echoing in Gwanghwamun?" and raised his voice in criticism, "With what shame do you now mention that name?"

Jeong also said, "It is outrageous and heartbreaking," and reiterated, "I warn you. Do not put former President Roh's name on your lips anymore." He concluded his post by saying, "Stop the posthumous character assassination immediately."
