[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Two drowning bodies were consecutively found in the sea and on the beach off Uljin, Gyeongbuk, prompting the Coast Guard to conduct an investigation.
According to the Uljin Coast Guard Station on the 1st, at around 10:47 a.m. on the 31st, a resident discovered and reported that Mr. A (59) was found drowned at the white sand beach near Wolsong-ri, Pyeonghae-eup, Uljin-gun.
According to the Coast Guard's investigation, Mr. A, confirmed to be a nearby resident, is estimated to have been deceased for about one or two days.
On the same day at 2:56 p.m., a male in his 80s, Mr. B, was found floating about 10 meters offshore in front of the Jae-dong Port Health Center in Hupo-eup, Uljin-gun, by a visitor who reported it to the Coast Guard. The man was taken to the hospital but passed away.
The police are investigating the detailed circumstances surrounding the deaths in both incidents.
