[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol met privately with former People Power Party emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in just one day after joining the party.

On the afternoon of the 31st, Yoon visited Kim's office in Gwanghwamun and reportedly had a conversation lasting about an hour. They had also met briefly earlier this month.

It is reported that Yoon explained the background behind his sudden entry into the People Power Party when he met Kim that day.

Kim Byung-min, spokesperson for the Yoon Seok-yeol camp, told Yonhap News in a phone interview, "Since Yoon joined the People Power Party, he formally announced his entry and greeted them out of courtesy."

He added, "I understand that (Kim) gave good advice for regime change."

Earlier, on the 30th, Yoon completed the entry procedures by visiting the People Power Party central office in Yeouido, Seoul. This was one month after he declared his presidential candidacy on the 29th of last month.

Regarding Yoon's joining the People Power Party, Kim said in a phone interview with Yonhap News, "I did not expect him to join so suddenly, as he was also setting up a new presidential campaign team."

When asked, "What advice would you give if you meet Yoon?" he replied, "Not much. Since he has joined, he just needs to follow the party rules and compete in the primaries."
