[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Due to the impact of the 4th wave of COVID-19, confirmed cases are rapidly increasing across the country.


On the 31st, according to the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH), new cluster infections linked to academies, PC rooms, workplaces, rehabilitation hospitals, and golf acquaintance gatherings were confirmed.


At a food manufacturing company in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, after the first case was identified among employees on the 27th, employees, family members, and acquaintances consecutively tested positive, increasing the cumulative confirmed cases to 43.


At a manufacturing company in Asan-si, Chungnam Province, after an employee was first confirmed positive on the 28th, 24 infections have occurred so far.


Regarding a PC room in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, a total of 17 people have tested positive since the 27th.


At a rehabilitation hospital in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, a total of 16 cases have been confirmed since the 20th, and at a workplace in Namyangju, 16 confirmed cases have been reported since the 21st.


At an academy in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, after the first confirmed case among staff on the 23rd, a total of 11 people tested positive, including 2 staff members, 4 students, and 5 family members.


In Daegu, multiple cluster infections were confirmed at gatherings, companies, schools, and markets.


At a golf acquaintance gathering in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, after the first confirmed case on the 24th, a total of 11 people were infected. At a cosmetics store in Suseong-gu (cumulative 9 cases), a middle school in Dalseo-gu (3rd case, 8 cases), and a market in Jung-gu (14 cases), about 10 confirmed cases each were reported within a few days.


Meanwhile, the proportion of patients who do not know when and where they were infected was recorded at 28.4%.
