[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suhwan] Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare tested positive for growth hormone in a doping test and was expelled from the Tokyo Olympics stage.
This is the first 'doping case' of this Olympics.
The World Athletics announced on the 31st, "A banned substance was found in Okagbare's urine sample. Okagbare's athlete eligibility is temporarily suspended."
On the 30th, Okagbare comfortably advanced to the semifinals with a time of 11.05 seconds in the women's 100m preliminaries. She also planned to compete in the 100m semifinals and finals, 200m preliminaries, and 400m relay preliminaries.
However, a banned substance was detected in a sample collected on July 19.
