Police Officer Confirmed Positive at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Financial Crime Investigation Unit... Full Testing Conducted

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] A police officer working in the Financial Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the police on the 30th, Sergeant A, who was transferred from the Financial Crime Investigation Unit to the Seocho Police Station the day before, tested positive that morning. Accordingly, the Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit, which shares the same building, decided to conduct COVID-19 tests on all its officers.

The Financial Crime Investigation Unit proactively classified close contacts for self-quarantine measures and instructed all staff to undergo COVID-19 testing within the day.

The Violent Crime Investigation Unit and the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit are currently identifying close contacts. All four investigation units?the Financial Crime Investigation Unit, the Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit, the Violent Crime Investigation Unit, and the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit?work at the Mapo Integrated Government Complex.

Sergeant A had contact with three people on the first day of his assignment at the Seocho Police Station on the 29th. Those contacts must also undergo COVID-19 testing and self-quarantine.
