[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk Province and the Democratic Party Jeongeup-Gochang Regional Committee announced on the 30th that they held the ‘Jeongeup Regional Autonomy and Decentralization Policy Council’ at the city hall’s main conference room on the 30th.
The council was organized to discuss efficient ways to secure next year’s national budget and ensure the smooth implementation of major city administration projects through communication and cooperation among Democratic Party members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, and the city.
About 40 people attended the meeting, including National Assembly member Yoon Junbyung, Mayor Yoo Jinseop, Jeongeup City Council Chairman Jo Sangjoong, Democratic Party provincial and city council members, members of the Jeongeup Regional Decentralization Policy Council, and related officials.
At the council, joint response measures were discussed to smoothly promote 25 pending projects in Jeongeup City, including ▲Construction of the Jeongeup Intangible Cultural Heritage Complex Training Center ▲Development project of Naejangsan National Park as a representative tourist destination ▲Expansion of Jeongeup Senior Welfare Center ▲Phase 2 project of the Southwest Memorial Park ▲Modernization project of Yeonji Market facilities ▲Development of odor reduction technology using electron accelerators.
The city explained the progress of key national budget projects for next year, including ▲Creation of a digital theme park utilizing Jeongeupsa ▲Construction of a digital media art center ▲Maintenance work on the frequently flooded area of Gobucheon Stream ▲Installation of sewage systems in rural villages ▲Installation of sewage pipelines in Sanoe and Deokcheon treatment areas, and requested active support and cooperation from National Assembly member Yoon Junbyung and Democratic Party provincial and city council members to secure more national funds.
In particular, regarding the 20th presidential election pledge projects, the city proposed three projects: ▲Creation of Jeonbuk Advanced Medical Complex ▲Creation of Smart Green Industrial Complex ▲Construction of Saemangeum-Jeongeup-Jirisan Expressway.
National Assembly member Yoon Junbyung said, “To promote Jeongeup’s development and improve residents’ quality of life, we must discover good policies and successfully implement them,” and added, “Let us work together so that the Jeongeup Autonomy and Decentralization Policy Council can play a leading role in Jeongeup’s development through communication and collaboration.”
Mayor Yoo Jinseop said, “We are doing our best to unleash various potentials such as Inhyang, Seonghyang, Juhyang, Mihyang, and Hwahang, which are new growth engines in the second half of the 7th local government term,” and added, “We hope for continued encouragement and support from Assembly member Yoon Junbyung, provincial and city council members, and Democratic Party policy committee members for Jeongeup’s sustainable development.”
