Prize Giveaway for the 10,000th Registered Customer and Donation to Abandoned Animal Shelter
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced on the 30th that it held a prize-giving ceremony by inviting the 10,000th subscriber and selected excellent users to celebrate surpassing 10,000 accounts of the ‘Meongi Nyangi Credit·Check Card’.
This event was prepared to express gratitude to users in celebration of surpassing 10,000 accounts of the ‘Meongi Nyangi Credit·Check Card,’ launched for the Pet-Fam group.
The 10,000th subscriber received a 500,000 KRW gift certificate for pet supplies, and 10 excellent users received 300,000 KRW gift certificates for pet supplies, providing a total of prizes worth 3.5 million KRW.
Additionally, to establish a proper companion animal culture, 0.1% of the usage amount of the ‘Meongi Nyangi Credit·Check Card’ was donated as a special fund to a stray dog protection center.
Song Jong-wook, president of Gwangju Bank, visited the nonprofit organization Gachi Bodeum, which operates the Gwangju animal shelter on consignment, and delivered 3 million KRW for the stray dog protection fund, pursuing value beyond true profit by returning part of the proceeds from product sales to the local community.
President Song of Gwangju Bank said, “I sincerely thank customers who have shown great interest and support for the ‘Meongi Nyangi Card’ series, and to repay their support, we will continue to do our best in various events and product development,” adding, “We will continuously launch specialized products reflecting diverse customer needs and provide customized services to become KJ Card that accompanies customers closest.”
The Meongi Nyangi Card first launched the credit card in May last year and achieved the remarkable milestone of surpassing 10,000 accounts within about a year amid enthusiastic responses from the Pet-Fam group.
As demand for check cards increased, the first pet-specialized check card, the ‘Meongi Nyangi Check Card,’ was launched in March this year by the bank, receiving favorable responses.
The biggest reason for the popularity of the ‘Meongi Nyangi Credit·Check Card’ is the 10% cashback offered on pet and animal hospital (supplies, food, grooming, etc.) categories to help save on the largest expenses related to companion animals, such as food, snacks, and disease prevention/treatment costs.
In particular, the ‘Photo Card Issuance Service,’ which is the only one among card companies to produce cards with the customer’s own pet photo inserted, has gained enthusiastic responses from the Pet-Fam group and formed a dedicated fan base.
Customers who received photo cards took pictures with their ‘Meongi Nyangi Card’ and their pets and posted them on personal SNS, spreading word of mouth among customers and increasing subscription inquiries actively.
Additionally, for the ‘Meongi Nyangi Check Card,’ users can receive 5% cashback at online shopping malls (Gmarket, Auction, 11st, Tmon, Coupang, Wemakeprice), coffee shops (Starbucks, Hollys, Twosome Place, Angel-in-us, Ediya, Tom N Toms, Caffe Bene, Coffee Bean, Droptop), and convenience stores (GS25, CU, 7-Eleven, Ministop, Emart 24). For the ‘Meongi Nyangi Credit Card,’ in addition to these, 5% cashback is also available at large discount stores (Emart, Lotte Mart, Homeplus) and department stores (Lotte, Shinsegae, Hyundai, Galleria, AK Plaza).
