[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Cyworld Z has announced on the 30th that it has signed a strategic partnership and investment agreement with the electronic payment agency Danal. The investment amount was not disclosed.
Through this partnership, Danal will handle electronic payment (PG) agency services for the payment and charging of 'Dotori,' the payment method within Cyworld.
The two companies will also discuss collaboration between Danal-invested delivery platform Mana Corporation and Cyworld. They will negotiate ways to support delivery services so that products ordered in the metaverse Cyworld can be received offline in reality.
With Cyworld's background music (BGM) service preparing for a revival, the company stated that significant results are expected between Danal, which holds copyrights to over 100,000 songs through Danal Entertainment, and Cyworld.
Danal said, "Through the strategic partnership with Cyworld, the original domestic metaverse operator, Danal's services will be introduced to payment, distribution, and delivery services conducted within the Cyworld platform," adding, "Danal's music library will also be actively utilized in the BGM service, which was once wildly popular."
