Seoul City University Graduate School of Urban Health Finalizes Adjunct Professor Selection Through Document Screening and Interview
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seo Nowon, Secretary General of the Seoul Metropolitan Council (photo, Grade 1), is known to be joining the Graduate School of Urban Health at the University of Seoul as an invited professor starting in September.
Secretary Seo graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in English Language and Literature and from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University. After passing the 32nd Administrative Examination, he began his public service career in 1990 as the Director of the Culture and Public Relations Office at Seongdong District Office. He has held various positions including Director of Construction and Transportation Bureau in Gangnam District, Director of Cultural Policy at Seoul City, Head of Magok Promotion Team, Deputy Mayor of Yangcheon District, and Director of Regional Development Headquarters (Grade 2) at Seoul City. Over 30 years and 4 months of service, he rose to the position of Secretary General of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, a Grade 1 position, demonstrating his competence.
Additionally, while serving as a public official, he studied abroad at the University of Wisconsin Graduate School in the United States and completed a doctoral program in Public Administration at Dongguk University, showing his scholarly dedication as he concludes his public service career and moves on to nurture future talents.
Secretary Seo is reported to have passed the final selection process, including document screening and interviews, to become an invited professor at the Graduate School of Urban Health at the University of Seoul.
In particular, during his public service career, Secretary Seo has been highly regarded for his character, earning the reputation of a "public official one would want to work with" not only among Seoul city employees but also during his six years as Deputy Mayor of Yangcheon District.
