President Moon appoints Lee Ki-heon as Civil Affairs Secretary and Lee Won-gu as Anti-Corruption Secretary (Comprehensive)

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Lee Ki-heon, Secretary for Citizen Participation, and Lee Won-gu, Senior Administrative Officer of the Anti-Corruption Secretary's Office, have been appointed to the vacant positions of Blue House Secretary for Civil Affairs and Secretary for Anti-Corruption, respectively, following the resignation of their predecessors.


Park Kyung-mi, Blue House spokesperson, stated, "President Moon Jae-in appointed Lee Ki-heon as Secretary for Civil Affairs and Lee Won-gu as Secretary for Anti-Corruption on the 30th."



Lee Ki-heon, the newly appointed Secretary for Civil Affairs, was born in 1968, graduated from Seoul Danggok High School and Kyung Hee University with a degree in Trade, and has served as the Democratic Party's General Secretary, Organization Secretary, Senior Administrative Officer in the National Security Office's Diplomatic Policy Secretary's Office, Senior Administrative Officer in the Presidential Secretariat's Secretary for Civil Affairs Office, and Secretary for Citizen Participation.

Born in 1971, Lee Won-gu, the new Secretary for Anti-Corruption, graduated from Seoul Yeongil High School and Hanyang University with a degree in Ceramic Engineering. He passed the 44th bar exam, worked as a lawyer at the law firm Changjo, and served as Senior Administrative Officer in the Presidential Secretariat's Office of Public Service Discipline and Senior Administrative Officer in the Secretary for Anti-Corruption Office.


Spokesperson Park said, "The new secretaries have experience working as senior administrative officers in their respective secretary offices, so they are well acquainted with the office's duties and are expected to faithfully perform their roles," adding, "They are scheduled to be officially appointed on the 31st."
