Naver AI Summarizes Shopping Reviews in One Line


[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver is introducing a review summarization feature based on its large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) HyperCLOVA.


On the 30th, Naver announced that the 'AI Review Summary' feature will be introduced, which analyzes numerous product reviews within Smart Store and extracts a single sentence that best represents the characteristics of the product.


Users can grasp a summary of reviews left by actual buyers at a glance through the one-line review provided by 'AI Review Summary' without having to read all the numerous reviews.


The AI Review Summary will first be applied to about 4.4 million products in the furniture and interior categories, and the scope of application will be gradually expanded. In the future, research will also be conducted to utilize this summarization technology to simultaneously compare multiple products or automatically generate product summary catalogs.


Meanwhile, Naver is commercializing HyperCLOVA by applying it throughout its services. Recently, it was introduced in Naver's mobile app 'Shopping Pan' to automatically correct product names. It has also been integrated into 'AiMD,' an AI that automatically generates shopping event plans. In May, it was applied to the search service to convert misspelled search terms into correct words or recommend appropriate search terms.
