Gochang-gun Promotes 'Hanwoo Superior Cow Early Selection New Technology Pilot Project'

On the 30th, according to the county, they are promoting the Rural Development Administration's 'Hanwoo Excellent Cow Early Selection New Technology Pilot Project' together with the county Hanwoo Research Association (Chairman Ryu Gi-sang).

The 'Hanwoo Excellent Cow Early Selection New Technology Pilot Project' selects excellent cows early through genetic analysis using tail hair of cattle, which has the advantage of lowering the calf shipment age and significantly reducing management costs.

Currently, genetic analysis is being conducted on 900 individuals with systematic consulting for members of the county Hanwoo Research Association, and microbial incubators are also being supported to improve the digestive efficiency and resistance of cattle to foster individuals of excellent grade.

Chairman Ryu Gi-sang said, "Just grading the cows being raised through genetic analysis is a good opportunity to improve Hanwoo productivity and increase income," and added, "I ask that genetic analysis be expanded to all Hanwoo farms."

Meanwhile, Gochang Hanwoo is raised in clean Gochang, designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and is systematically managed in terms of pedigree and feed, being evaluated as the highest quality nationwide.

In particular, in November 2018, it was served as a main menu at the Blue House state banquet attended by President Moon Jae-in and former President Donald Trump, and it has captivated consumers' tastes by being listed in the Lotte Department Store main branch, which is said to be harder than picking stars from the sky, where regular promotional events are held.
