KT M Mobile Altteul Phone, Expands 'Data Sharing' Plans to 17 Types

Three New Senior Plans Added

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] KT M Mobile, the No.1 domestic MVNO company, announced on the 30th that it has expanded and reorganized the applicable plans for its own budget phone bundling service, ‘Data Sharing.’

Data Sharing is a bundling service first launched in the budget phone industry by KT M Mobile in April this year. It allows subscribers to automatically share data by combining high-capacity data plans (data giving only) and low-cost plans (data receiving only). The process has also been simplified so that users can apply for the service directly on the website and complete the bundling mutually through SMS authentication without filling out or submitting subscription documents.

First, reflecting the opinions of subscribers who want to bundle with their elderly parents, three senior-exclusive unlimited plans available only to customers aged 65 or older were added to the ‘data receiving only’ products: ▲Senior Safety 0.5GB+ (KRW 5,900/month) ▲Senior Safety 2GB+ (KRW 8,900/month) ▲Senior Safety 4GB+ (KRW 11,900/month). Senior product users can receive 2GB of data monthly from subscribers of ‘data giving only’ plans. After the monthly basic data is exhausted, usage is possible at a speed of 400Kbps.

In addition, starting from the 1st of next month, two new ‘data receiving only’ plans, ‘Data Sharing 120 Minutes’ and ‘Data Sharing 240 Minutes,’ which can only be subscribed to when using the bundling service, will be newly launched. These products are characterized by having no basic data provided and setting communication fees below KRW 5,000 per month, considering secondary phone users.

The ‘data giving only’ plans will be expanded to a total of 17 types. The product lineup has been built from the mid-KRW 10,000 range to the high KRW 30,000 range per month, broadening consumer choice. Also, all 17 plans apply the ‘Deideuk (Data+Benefit)’ promotion, offering additional free data every month for two years. Plans supporting content and various coupon benefits such as ▲online video services (OTT) ▲cloud gaming ▲music streaming services are also available for bundling service use.

To activate the service, exclusive promotions will also be conducted. KT M Mobile provides bundling service subscribers with ▲Starbucks long umbrellas ▲Emart gift certificates worth about KRW 10,000 ▲data coupons (2GB), among other benefits.
