Plans to Establish Rider Support Process to Create a Healthy Work Environment
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Mesh Korea (CEO Yoo Jung-beom), operator of 'Boorung,' announced on the 30th that it will provide saline glucose to manage the health of delivery drivers working amid the ongoing heatwave.
This support program is part of the company's welfare policy to ensure the health and safety of two- and four-wheeled delivery drivers handling the surge in delivery volumes due to COVID-19 during the heatwave that arrived earlier than usual. Mesh Korea will deliver saline glucose to nationwide logistics hubs once a week until the end of the hot season.
Mesh Korea has currently pre-purchased 3,500 boxes of saline glucose and is storing them at the Gimpo Fulfillment Center (FC). Based on a full cold chain system, saline glucose will be safely stocked at the Gimpo Fulfillment Center and sequentially provided weekly to Boorung drivers performing delivery tasks at over 450 locations nationwide.
Starting with this saline glucose support, Mesh Korea plans to expand various welfare programs for the health management of all Boorung delivery drivers. In particular, it will establish a systematic process through accurate quantity forecasting and advance bulk purchasing to enable more delivery drivers to benefit.
Choi Byung-jun, Head of Operations at Mesh Korea, said, "Due to the nature of delivery work being greatly affected by weather, careful support for the health management of delivery drivers is necessary during the hot season," adding, "We plan to develop various support measures to improve work efficiency as well as health and safety."
