Three COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Naju... Numbers 119 to 121

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] Three COVID-19 cases were confirmed over two days starting from the 28th in Naju, Jeollanam-do.

According to Naju city quarantine authorities on the 29th, cases number 119 to 121 tested positive through health center on-site testing while under self-quarantine due to contact with previously confirmed cases.

Case 119 in Naju had contact with a family member (Jeonnam 1911) residing in Wando on the 23rd.

The initial test on the 24th was negative, but due to abnormal symptoms during self-quarantine at home in Naju, an on-site test was requested at the health center the previous day, resulting in a final positive diagnosis and immediate transfer to Mokpyo Medical Center on the same day.

Cases 120 and 121 were confirmed as foreign workers at Dongsu Industrial Complex.

Case 120, a national of Uzbekistan, had contact with Naju case 118, who was confirmed positive on the 27th.

Through epidemiological investigation, case 120 was tested at the health center screening clinic on the 27th and classified for 'retesting after 48 hours,' self-quarantined, and then tested positive on the retest that day.

Case 121, a cohabitant of case 120, was tested together on the same day and confirmed positive.

The quarantine authorities completed disinfection of the confirmed patients' residences and have launched an epidemiological investigation to identify movements and contacts prior to self-quarantine by checking GPS and card usage records, making every effort to prevent further spread.

Currently, the Naju area has been under 'Social Distancing Level 3' from the 27th until the 8th of next month, due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19 in non-metropolitan areas.
