President Moon said, "Hwang Sun-woo, who competed in the men's freestyle swimming at the Tokyo Olympics, has been astonishing the public day after day. At the age of eighteen, in his first Olympic appearance, he reached the finals of the 100m freestyle and dynamically cut through the water."
President Moon explained, "Hwang set a new Asian record in the 100m semifinals yesterday and a new Korean record in the 200m preliminaries. These are astonishing achievements," adding, "Advancing to the 100m freestyle final is the first time for an Asian swimmer in 65 years."
