[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] The Jeongeup Agricultural Technology Center in Jeonbuk announced on the 29th that it held a 'Youth Startup Farmer Farming Settlement Support Field Support Group Meeting' at the auditorium of the second building.
At the meeting, 38 young farmers in their 2nd to 3rd year, selected as youth startup farmers, attended.
The field support group consists of three members: agricultural experts, leading farmers with extensive farming experience, and young farmers who have already settled. Until October, they will visit the farming sites of youth startup farmers to check compliance with mandatory farming obligations, conduct farming management diagnosis and coaching, and provide independent management support.
At this meeting, time was spent sharing expert know-how and cultivation technology information to help young farmers overcome difficulties in the early stages of farming settlement.
They also listened to difficulties and suggestions related to farm management and gathered various opinions to explore support measures.
The farming settlement support project is designed to support the stable settlement of young farmers experiencing income instability in the early stages of farming, helping young and talented individuals enter the agricultural field and improving the aging agricultural workforce structure.
Additionally, youth startup farmers aged 18 to under 40 years old, in their third year or less of independent management, are selected to receive farming settlement funds of 800,000 to 1,000,000 KRW per month for up to three years, and loans of up to 300 million KRW as successor agricultural management promotion funds.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, “Through the activities of the field support group, we will actively support youth startup farmers to overcome difficulties in the early stages of farming settlement well and grow into excellent farmers who will lead future agriculture.”
