Leisure platform Yanolja announced on the 29th that its consolidated revenue last year reached 288.8 billion KRW, a 16.7% increase compared to the previous year (247.4 billion KRW). During the same period, operating profit was 10.9 billion KRW, successfully turning positive from an operating loss of 13.5 billion KRW the previous year.
Rapid digital transformation and expansion of the cloud solutions business were the reasons behind Yanolja's improved performance last year, despite the travel industry being severely impacted by COVID-19. Yanolja is particularly strengthening its position as a 'travel super app' (an application supporting various services) through advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and a cloud-based platform.
Yanolja aims to leap forward as a 'global travel platform.' The company explained that it plans to diversify its cloud solutions business and lead innovation in the global travel and hospitality market, which is worth approximately 300 trillion KRW annually.
A Yanolja representative said, "Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we have laid the foundation for sustainable growth through active technology development and investment," adding, "We will continue to expand R&D investment to lead market trends and strengthen our capabilities."
