[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) is supporting residents to resolve everyday conflicts on their own through the Village Dispute Resolution Support Center.
According to Seo-gu on the 29th, to operate the center, a reconciliation support planner was hired last April, and consulting tailored to the characteristics of the community is being conducted for communication room communities.
The center also performs various roles, such as holding reconciliation support meetings to ensure disputes and conflicts among village residents are resolved amicably.
In May, a workshop for communication room operating organizations was held to share activities by each communication room and discuss ways to revitalize them.
Especially this month, resident reconciliation supporter training was conducted three times, producing 14 resident reconciliation supporters who will act as mediators in resolving conflicts between neighbors together with the reconciliation support planner.
A Seo-gu official said, "We hope that by resolving various disputes arising in daily life through the Dispute Resolution Support Center, it will help restore relationships between neighbors," adding, "We will work harder to create a happy village community."
