On the morning of the 29th, Lee Juho recorded a time of 1:56.93 in the men's 200m backstroke semifinals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre in Japan, finishing 7th in heat 1. Among the 16 competitors overall, he placed 11th, missing out on a spot in the finals.
Lee Juho advanced to the semifinals by placing 4th out of 29 participants in the preliminaries held the previous afternoon with a new Korean record of 1:56.77. This time improved his own previous Korean record of 1:57.06, set at the national team selection competition last November, by 0.29 seconds after about eight months.
