Gangjin-gun Strengthens Response to Heatwave Including Operation of Water Sprinkler Trucks

[Gangjin＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Amid continuous heatwaves exceeding 30 degrees Celsius and ongoing special weather warnings, Gangjin County has classified the situation as a disaster and conducted road watering with water trucks to reduce road heat radiation and prevent casualties.

According to Gangjin County on the 29th, this water truck operation is being carried out with free support from Boeun Construction (CEO Lee Bong-seok). Since the 28th, emergency deployment of water trucks has been underway, focusing on major roads with high pedestrian traffic within the urban planning road sections of Gangjin-eup.

Hong Yang-sik, head of the Urban Landscape Team, stated, “If this water truck operation proves effective in preventing heatwave damage, we are considering additional measures for continuous implementation and will do our best to minimize heatwave damage.”

County Governor Lee Seung-ok said, “We will strive to minimize heatwave damage through various methods such as operating water trucks so that residents can have a cool summer,” and added, “We ask for your understanding even if traffic is somewhat inconvenient.”
