DIC "We Will Become a Global Eco-Friendly Company"... ESG Management Declaration

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Jeong-su] DIC, a leading domestic electric vehicle (EV) reducer company, has announced its commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, emphasizing carbon neutrality. The company aims to implement key ESG tasks and leap forward as a global eco-friendly leader.

DIC announced on the 29th that it held an ESG declaration ceremony the day before, attended by executives including Chairman Kim Seong-moon and President Kim Jeong-ryeol.

Kim Jeong-ryeol, CEO of DIC, explained, "Recently, ESG management has become a major topic for companies. Considering that this is an important time to contribute to the ESG sector by establishing cooperative systems with global companies such as Hyundai, Kia, GM, and Tesla, we decided to hold the declaration ceremony."

DIC has set management goals for each of the environmental, social, and governance categories.

In the environmental sector, the goals are △securing a leading position in the eco-friendly future automobile market to achieve carbon neutrality △establishing a foothold in the eco-friendly materials market △realizing the monetization of carbon emission rights. In the social sector, the goals include △building ESG management cooperation systems with global companies △promoting an eco-friendly image △establishing workplace safety systems to ensure a safe working environment. For governance, the goals are △achieving a stable governance structure △enhancing shareholder value △practicing corporate ethical management.

To this end, DIC plans to form an ‘ESG Committee’ under the board of directors, including female executives. The company intends to strengthen ESG management activities as a trusted and responsible company by prioritizing the interests of various stakeholders such as employees, shareholders, and local communities, and actively addressing environmental and social issues.

At the declaration ceremony, CEO Kim urged the employees, "Please ensure that the cooperative system among all business divisions within the company is firmly established so that ESG management can be settled early."
