SugenTech Registers COVID-19 Self-Diagnosis Kit in Greece... "Detects Delta Variant"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] SuzenTech announced on the 29th that it has completed registration with the Greek National Organization for Medicine (EOF) following the European CE certification of its COVID-19 antigen self-test diagnostic kit, ‘SGTi-flex COVID-19 Ag’.

The registered antigen self-test diagnostic kit allows for easy testing by collecting nasal swab specimens from suspected infected individuals. Targeting antigen regions of the virus that rarely mutate, it can diagnose the Delta variant within 15 minutes.

Recently, Greece has seen nearly 3,000 new confirmed cases per day, with the total number of COVID-19 infections exceeding 440,000 and approximately 12,700 deaths. Ahead of the summer tourist season, the Greek government is strengthening quarantine measures, including mandating vaccinations for healthcare workers, in preparation for a surge in COVID-19 cases.

A SuzenTech official stated, “Currently, only five companies worldwide, including SuzenTech, have antigen self-test diagnostic kits registered with the Greek EOF,” adding, “With limited competition, we will do our best to expand sales in the Greek market based on our quality competitiveness.”

In May, SuzenTech became the first in Korea to receive the official European approval ‘CE CoC (Certificate of Conformity)’ for the antigen self-test diagnostic kit SGTi-flex COVID-19 Ag, and this month completed separate registration in the United Kingdom. It has obtained sales authorization in countries including Greece, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Belgium, enabling sales throughout Europe.

In addition to self-test diagnostic kits, SuzenTech is accelerating its global market expansion with COVID-19 antigen rapid diagnostic kits. This month alone, it signed a supply contract worth a total of 18.2 billion KRW for COVID-19 antigen rapid diagnostic kits with Vietnam, marking the start of its Southeast Asian market expansion.
