[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) announced on the 29th that it has signed a business agreement with the Seoul Regional Post Office to provide free traffic accident insurance enrollment support for platform transportation workers among KAMCO debtors.
This business agreement was promoted to lay the groundwork for resolving employment security blind spots by supporting free enrollment in traffic accident insurance for platform transportation workers who have unstable employment and income and low social insurance subscription rates.
Through the agreement, KAMCO recommends eligible recipients, and the Seoul Regional Post Office supports the full insurance premium by combining 50% of the donation from Shinhan Capital to the Community Chest of Korea and 50% from the Post Office Insurance public interest fund.
The supported product is the "Post Office Narumi Safety Insurance," a traffic accident insurance that covers traffic accident death (30 million KRW), disability (5 million KRW), intensive care unit hospitalization, major surgery, etc., for one year.
The support target is about 1,000 platform transportation workers residing in the metropolitan area among KAMCO debtors, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from the 2nd of next month through the KAMCO Customer Support Center or the Seoul Central Post Office Insurance Team.
Shin Heung-sik, Vice President of KAMCO, said, "We expect to expand support for platform transportation workers who are in employment security blind spots and have joined this agreement," adding, "We will continue to take the lead in practicing the value of coexistence and cooperation steadily along with supporting financially vulnerable groups."
