[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Joo-hee] Broadcaster Kim Eo-jun expressed skepticism about the explanation given by former prosecutor Yang regarding the 'cohabitation report' involving Kim Gun-hee, wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol. Yang's side dismissed the report, stating that "his mother suffers from dementia and the cohabitation report is completely false," but Kim questioned, "How does Yang's mother, who supposedly has dementia, still know Kim Gun-hee's name before she changed it?"
On the 28th, while hosting TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory,' Kim expressed this stance regarding the 'cohabitation report' involving former prosecutor Yang and Kim Gun-hee, which was reported the previous day by the YouTube channel 'Yeollin Gonggam TV.'
'Yeollin Gonggam TV' caused a stir by airing an interview with Yang's mother, Ms. A. Based on Ms. A saying, "I know Kim Myung-shin (Kim Gun-hee's name before the change) well," the channel reported that the cohabitation between Kim Gun-hee and the married former prosecutor Yang was confirmed as fact.
In response, Yang's side dismissed the report, stating that his mother is mentally unwell due to dementia and that the cohabitation report is untrue. He released a statement criticizing the reporters who deceived his mother into the interview, saying, "They trespassed by lying, continuously led questions to make my mother respond, and to call such disgraceful acts 'journalistic principles'?do they have any conscience at all?"
Regarding this, Kim Eo-jun pointed out, "Since (his mother) is in her 90s, she could indeed have dementia symptoms," but added, "They say there is no private relationship with (Kim Gun-hee), and that (his mother) has dementia, but how does the former prosecutor's mother know Kim Gun-hee's former name from her younger days?" He argued that even if Yang's mother has dementia, an explanation is needed as to how she knows Kim Gun-hee's name before the name change.
Meanwhile, former Prosecutor General Yoon filed a complaint with the Seocho Police Station against Yeollin Gonggam TV's CEO Jung Cheon-su, reporter Kang Jin-gu, and others for trespassing and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.
Yoon's campaign office stated, "We judged that we can no longer tolerate criminal acts that spread unspeakable lies under the guise of verification, solely aiming for their political interests and broadcasting profits," and warned, "If media outlets that spread false information based on Yeollin Gonggam TV's broadcast do not immediately take measures such as removing the articles, we will pursue additional legal actions."
