"Young Collectors Gather"... Lotte Department Store Sells Artworks by Emerging Artists Lotte Department Store will hold the 'Flex Art Exhibition' at the Art Hall on the 6th floor of Lotte Avenuel Jamsil in Seoul from the 30th of this month to the 29th of next month.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Department Store announced on the 29th that it will hold the 'Flex Art Exhibition' at the Art Hall on the 6th floor of Lotte Avenuel Jamsil in Seoul from the 30th of this month to the 29th of next month.

Lotte Department Store is conducting a sales exhibition of works by emerging artists with a unique concept targeting the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). It carefully selected and showcases about 90 works by 10 artists, each with a distinct personality. The prices range from a minimum of 600,000 KRW to a maximum of 70 million KRW, with an average price of around 11 million KRW, making them ideal choices for new collectors as their first collection.

Visitors can appreciate various genres of works with unique worldviews in one place, including works by artist G비지, who created the painting of Dasong in the movie Parasite; artist Bae Joon-sung, who offers lenticular images expanded through interpretive experiences; and artist Han Sang-yoon, who transforms the material desires inherent in modern people into paradoxical mediums of pleasantness, refreshment, and exhilaration.

To commemorate this exhibition, on the 10th of next month, an art-tech lecture will be held online, including an overall introduction to the exhibition and information about the current art-tech market. On the 12th, a virtual conversation with artist Han Sang-yoon will take place.

Lotte Department Store is focusing on preparing a digital gallery scheduled to open at the end of August. This platform will open a separate online gallery section within the Lotte Department Store application (app), allowing non-face-to-face consultations and purchases of artworks categorized by price range and theme.

A Lotte Department Store official said, “This art exhibition is one that even the MZ generation, who have just begun to take an interest in artworks, can enjoy. We will continue to actively pursue art business to provide more special experiences offline and offer convenience and variety online.”
