Emart Delivers 'Energy Recovery Kits' to Vulnerable Groups in Local Communities

Emart Delivers 'Energy Recovery Kits' to Vulnerable Groups in Local Communities Energy Recovery Kit prepared by Emart.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Emart announced on the 29th that it will donate energy recovery kits to vulnerable elderly groups in local governments and communities nationwide until the end of August.

The energy recovery kits consist of Peacock ready meals such as Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), Chueotang (loach soup), fresh ginseng nutritious rice, and Cheorwon Odae rice, with a total quantity of 13,000 units prepared. Emart will sequentially deliver these kits to local social welfare organizations through 50 stores nationwide, and the social welfare organizations will then send them to the recipients via courier.

Until 2019, Emart conducted activities through the Peacock Volunteer Group to deliver food using Peacock products to vulnerable groups in the community, but these activities were temporarily suspended last year due to the impact of COVID-19. Emart planned the energy recovery kits as part of its existing social contribution project, Hope Delivery Wagon, and since April last year, it has supported a total of about 7,800 households through cooperation with local governments.

An Emart official said, “After considering how Emart stores can contribute to the communities they are based in and fulfill the role of a social safety net, we prepared this social contribution activity,” adding, “We will continue to introduce various customized social contribution activities to coexist with local communities and fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”
