Archery team aces Kim Woo-jin (29, Cheongju City Hall) and Kang Chae-young (25, Hyundai Mobis) both advanced to the round of 16.
On the afternoon of the 28th, Kim Woo-jin defeated France's Pierre Plihon 6-2 (27-26 27-29 28-27 29-27) in the men's individual round of 32 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics archery event held at Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo, Japan. On the 31st, he will face Malaysia's Khairul Anuar Mohamad for a spot in the quarterfinals. Having already won a gold medal in the men's team event, Kim Woo-jin aims for his first individual gold medal and a double crown at this tournament.
Kang Chae-young, who won gold in the women's team event, also continued her smooth progress toward a double crown. In the women's individual round of 32, she defeated Ukraine's Veronika Marchenko 7-1 (27-26 29-28 29-29 28-24). On the 30th, she will face Turkey's Yasemin Anagoz in the round of 16.
