[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeongnae) is removing the old elastic pavement installed in three children's parks in the district for the safety of children and renovating them using eco-friendly materials.
On the 28th, Nam-gu announced that it will reinstall eco-friendly elastic pavement to create a safe play culture environment that prevents injuries from falls around playground facilities in children's parks, which are the main play spaces for children, and to provide residents with a pleasant park environment.
The maintenance targets are three locations: Bongseon Children's Park, Bongseon 3 Children's Park, and Bangjuk Children's Park.
About 100 million KRW will be invested to complete the construction by early August.
In particular, considering that these are children's play spaces, eco-friendly flooring that absorbs impact will be extensively used around playground equipment, and the surface will be finished with elastic pavement that has antibacterial properties to suppress the penetration of viruses and harmful bacteria, preventing children with weak immunity from infections.
Additionally, to maximize the fun for children using the playground, images of forests and trees will be added to the top surface of the elastic pavement.
A Nam-gu official said, “We will do our best to create an eco-friendly play space so that our children can safely run and play freely.”
