The Korea-China Economic Cooperation Symposium consisted of ▲ Korea-China Development Policy Forum ▲ Business Cooperation Exchange Meeting ▲ Industrial Cooperation Partnering Consultation. About 300 officials from Korean and Chinese institutions and companies attended this event, showing great interest in industrial cooperation between the two countries in the post-COVID-19 era.
At the forum held in the morning, after presentations on China's development policies and the Korean New Deal policy, a panel discussion followed. Gu Chuntai, Deputy Director of the Shandong Academy of Social Sciences, who participated in the discussion, emphasized, "Attention should be paid to the environmental and information and communication technology (IT) sectors in China's economic policies," adding, "This is connected to the Korean New Deal, so there is great potential for cooperation between Korean and Chinese companies in the future."
In the consultation session held in the afternoon, 40 Chinese companies in the fields of environment, medical care, and materials/components (machinery, automobile, electronics) and 80 domestic companies participated, conducting a total of over 100 video consultations. Chinese companies showed high interest in Korea's water treatment and air purification technologies.
Wei Zhaojiang, General Manager of Beikong Environmental Technology, a company participating in the consultation, stated, "In the future, integration with digital technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence will be essential in the environmental sector," and added, "We hope to cooperate with Korean companies that possess excellent technologies."

Meanwhile, on the same day, KOTRA signed a business agreement with the 'Ubiquitous Intelligence Research Institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Jinan,' the largest research institution in China. The two organizations agreed to support the entry of Korean companies into the Chinese market in the fields of Internet of Things (IoT), medical care, and robotics.
Son Sudeuk, Head of KOTRA's Economic and Trade Cooperation Division, said, "This is a time when cooperation in new growth industries is necessary to prepare for the post-COVID-19 era," and added, "We will continue to strengthen cooperation with China and actively support Korean companies' entry into the Chinese market."
