[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in sent congratulatory messages on the 28th to fencing athletes Kang Young-mi, Choi In-jeong, Song Se-ra, and Lee Hye-in, who won medals at the Tokyo Olympics, as well as taekwondo athletes Lee Da-bin and In Kyo-don.


On the same day, through social network services (SNS), President Moon encouraged Kang Young-mi, a member of the women's team ?p?e fencing team, saying, "As the reliable eldest sister of the team, your dedication to doing your best at every moment was impressive," and "The kiai shouts you made always gave strength at crucial moments."


President Moon stated, "Following the silver medal at the London Olympics, you have once again proven your world-class skills," and "thank you for bringing joy to the people."


To Choi In-jeong, he also said, "Your act of untangling the opponent's tangled blade in the semifinal was deeply moving, embodying the Olympic spirit beyond winning or losing," and "I will cheer for your future challenges together with the people."


To Song Se-ra, he encouraged, "I applaud Song for showing confidence and concentration at every critical moment."


To Lee Hye-in, he sent a congratulatory message, "With fearless performance, you earned the glory of a medal in your first-ever Olympics. You also fulfilled the dream of your father, who was a fencer," and "Truly admirable."


To taekwondo women's 67kg category athlete Lee Da-bin, he said, "In your first Olympics, you elevated the prestige of the birthplace of taekwondo," and "Your comeback story brought such exhilarating joy that it made us forget the heat. It will remain in the memories of the people for a long time."


To taekwondo men's 80kg category athlete In Kyo-don, he stated, "The result is even more precious as it was achieved by overcoming illness," and "You fully demonstrated your 'third-round warrior' spirit and proudly wore a medal in your first Olympics. The passion you showed will be remembered in the hearts of the people for a long time."
