Inter-Korean Military Authorities Hold Call at 9 AM via West Sea Military Communication Line

Inter-Korean Military Authorities Hold Call at 9 AM via West Sea Military Communication Line

[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] On the 28th, the second day after the restoration of the inter-Korean communication hotline, calls through the military communication line were conducted normally.

On this day, a military official stated, "At 9 a.m., regular calls through the West Sea district military communication line were conducted normally, and the East Sea district communication line is still attempting connection due to technical issues."

The inter-Korean military authorities had regular calls at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. before the disconnection. Wired calls via optical cable and fax transmission and reception for document exchange are operating normally.

The Ministry of National Defense expects future cooperation projects such as free movement in the Joint Security Area at Panmunjom and joint excavation of the remains of the fallen soldiers from the Korean War in the Demilitarized Zone at Hwasalmeori Ridge. It also holds the position that military talks with the North are possible regarding the ROK-U.S. joint exercises.
