[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Son Seon-hee] Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum announced on the 28th, "Moderna has decided to resume vaccine supply, which had experienced some setbacks, starting next week."

On the morning of the same day, Prime Minister Kim presided over the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting for COVID-19 at the Government Complex Sejong and stated, "To discuss the recent issues regarding Moderna vaccine supply in Korea, the government held a high-level video conference with Moderna last night." He added, "The government will finalize the vaccination plan for August so that the public can participate in vaccinations with confidence and will announce it this Friday."

Amid expectations that the daily number of new COVID-19 cases will once again reach a record high, Prime Minister Kim said, "Despite consecutive nationwide strengthened quarantine measures, there is no sign of the COVID-19 spread calming down." He urged, "To achieve stability within the remaining little over ten days, we must tighten quarantine measures even further."

Meanwhile, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), which had forcibly held illegal rallies despite repeated government requests for restraint, postponed the Sejong City rally originally planned for the 29th. Regarding this, Prime Minister Kim said, "It is fortunate that this decision was made considering public concerns," but emphasized, "The government will continue to respond firmly to any illegal acts that threaten the safety of the community."
