[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Pulmuone is partnering with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology to develop eco-friendly food packaging materials.
On the 28th, Pulmuone Technology Institute announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology to develop innovative and sustainable food packaging based on eco-friendly green packaging technology, aiming to strengthen carbon neutrality and ESG (environment, social, governance) management in the food industry, and will jointly promote related projects.
As carbon neutrality and ESG management become social issues, both organizations have agreed to collaborate on developing innovative food packaging materials, conducting R&D on eco-friendly packaging, and advancing the sustainable packaging industry.
According to the agreement, both parties will jointly implement ▲ discovering and conducting joint research and development projects in food packaging and online logistics ▲ developing innovative products using new materials, new technologies, and new designs ▲ developing eco-friendly food packaging technologies and products ▲ sharing technologies, information, trends, and networks related to food packaging ▲ jointly utilizing equipment and facilities in the packaging field ▲ and other mutually necessary matters. Pulmuone and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology expect that by establishing a mutual cooperation network in the food packaging sector, they will contribute to the sustainable development of the food industry.
With this MOU, Pulmuone expects to accelerate not only the development of eco-friendly packaging materials but also the development of innovative eco-friendly packaging materials optimized for online distribution. Previously, Pulmuone announced plans to apply 100% recyclable excellent packaging materials to all products produced and sold by Pulmuone by 2022.
Lee Sang-yoon, head of Pulmuone Technology Institute, stated, “By cooperating to develop eco-friendly innovative packaging, both organizations expect to create synergy for the development of the food industry,” and added, “Under the mission of being a LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) company that loves people and nature together, Pulmuone will continue to develop eco-friendly materials that help the global environment and contribute to strengthening carbon neutrality and ESG management in the food industry.”
