Main Store, From the 30th to the 5th of Next Month
Selling Hotel Vouchers, Goods, Bathrobes, and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 28th that it will collaborate with boutique hotel L'Escape to launch an experiential pop-up that recreates hotel rooms for the first time in the department store industry, targeting the growing number of 'hokangseu' (hotel vacation) customers.
This pop-up, available at the Shinsegae Main Store, features a setup that faithfully replicates L'Escape’s beds and sofas. It will be held for one week from the 30th to August 5th at the first-floor Atrium event hall, offering a variety of items ranging from room vouchers to hotel lifestyle products.
L'Escape is Korea’s first French-style boutique hotel inspired by Paris, France. Given the difficulty of overseas travel these days, it is popular among hokangseu customers as a place that evokes the feeling of being in Europe. All customers who purchase L'Escape room vouchers will receive a cosmetic travel kit with six items and a VIP kit including skin toner, lotion, serum, eye cream, cream, and cleanser.
Popular items among L'Escape guests include the hotel key set (2 keys, holder, envelope, hotel pen) priced at 12,000 KRW, bathrobes at 99,000 KRW, and pet sofas at 585,000 KRW. The pet sofa is limited to three pieces and is offered at a 10% discounted price. L'Escape goods will also be sold through SSG.com and Naver Live Commerce in the second half of the year.
Products suitable for both hokangseu and homecations can also be found at the first-floor Atrium event hall. 'Bath Project' offers natural bath additives certified for low skin irritation, all produced domestically. Known for its bath art that creates a cosmic effect in the tub with various colors, the bath additives smooth the skin and create a romantic atmosphere. The scents are excellent for relieving accumulated mental and physical fatigue.
Representative products include powder-type bath additives priced at 30,000 KRW, bubble bars at 9,000 KRW, body lotion scented only with aroma oils at 32,000 KRW, and body wash at 27,000 KRW. During the event, customers can enjoy benefits such as 40% discounts on body lotion and wash, a free genuine product when purchasing three bath additives, and two travel-size body sprays with the purchase of a body spray.
Candles, vases, wine glasses, and whiskey glasses will also be showcased. 'Orrefors' is a Swedish royal official crystalware luxury brand with numerous products and collections. It is well known for Nobel Prize official glassware and Karl Lagerfeld limited editions, and is recognized as the best brand in over 2,000 premium boutiques worldwide. Prices range from 20,000 to 120,000 KRW for wine and liquor glasses, and 50,000 to 2,000,000 KRW for interior collections.
Lee Jung-wook, head of Shinsegae Department Store Main Store, said, "We have prepared various hokangseu and homecation items for customers who find it difficult to travel far this summer," adding, "We plan to continue introducing new content that can lead customer lifestyles."
