[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Jeollanam-do Naju City (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 27th that it installed a mobile screening clinic within the Dongsu-dong Industrial Complex and conducted COVID-19 mass testing targeting 50 companies and approximately 400 workers.
The results are expected to be released the following morning.
The Dongsu Industrial Complex is densely populated with various types of businesses, and frequent movement of manufactured goods between regions increases the risk of cluster infections in case of confirmed cases, making proactive quarantine management necessary.
Foreign workers sometimes do not or cannot undergo testing due to communication difficulties and lack of information, raising concerns about infection.
The quarantine authorities recently conducted a first round of mass testing on 157 workers at 19 foreign worker workplaces in the Dongsu Industrial Complex, all of whom tested negative.
A city official stated, “Considering the working and communication conditions of foreign workers and the risk of cluster infections, we are conducting proactive mass testing through the operation of a mobile screening clinic. We will thoroughly manage quarantine measures for vulnerable workplaces exposed to closed, crowded, and close-contact environments.”
