[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Six presidential candidates from the Democratic Party of Korea will hold a One Team agreement ceremony. This event is designed to encourage fair competition among primary candidates and foster policy vision competition on livelihood issues and future-oriented topics. The ceremony is taking place amid concerns that the presidential primary has become excessively negative, drawing attention to whether it can help calm the overheated atmosphere.
On the 27th, the Democratic Party announced that on the 28th at 8 a.m., the Central Party Headquarters will host the 20th presidential election 'One Team' agreement ceremony on the 2nd floor auditorium, jointly organized by the Central Party Election Commission and the think tank Democratic Research Institute. The purpose is to reinforce the meaning of fair competition and policy competition among presidential candidates and to lead a future-oriented primary.
The ceremony will be held under the slogan "Fair Primary! Core Pledges One Team!" with Assemblyman Han Jun-ho serving as the host.
Following an opening address by Party Leader Song Young-gil, Lee Sang-min, Chairman of the Central Party Election Commission, will deliver a greeting and progress report, and No Woong-rae, Director of the Democratic Research Institute, will report on the plan for developing core presidential pledges.
The six presidential primary candidates will take an oath to the public pledging fair competition, clean elections, and the One Team spirit, and will perform a badge exchange ceremony symbolizing the 'One Team.' This is intended to remind the candidates of the qualities a leader must possess?dignity, morality, cooperation, and the spirit of unity?and to enhance public trust.
Additionally, the candidates will pledge to compete fairly and to abide by the party constitution, party regulations, and decisions of the Central Party Election Commission.
Each candidate will then deliver a two-minute policy keynote speech presenting their policy vision and direction, followed by the signing of the 'Core Pledges One Team Agreement' and a 'puzzle assembly' performance.
Through this agreement ceremony, the Democratic Party promises to actively cooperate to include each candidate's major pledges in the party's presidential platform and aims to fill the livelihood policy gap through policy competition and cooperation.
