[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH) announced on the 27th that the social value generated from its management activities and projects last year was evaluated at approximately 1.9 trillion KRW.
According to the '2020 Social Value Performance Report' released by SH Corporation on this day, SH created a total social value worth 1.8897 trillion KRW last year. This represents a 33.4% increase compared to 2018 (1.4165 trillion KRW).
In the 'Citizen Domain,' which improves the quality of life for citizens, the largest achievement of 1.8821 trillion KRW was generated, while 113.6 billion KRW in the 'Community Domain' and 4 billion KRW in the 'Global Environment Domain' were also realized as social value.
The evaluation was conducted based on standard monetization measurement principles using data from Statistics Korea, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and SH's management performance reports. Consultations and verification opinions from external experts, including professors from Catholic University and Hoseo University, were also reflected.
Hwang Sang-ha, Acting President of SH Corporation, stated, "SH will continue to internalize social value throughout its management and projects and actively engage in socially responsible management. We will grow into a leading company in social responsibility management that prioritizes citizens' happiness over economic value."
