Police Arrest Terrifying Teenagers Who Recklessly Drove Stolen Car Through Seoul Streets

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Teenagers who stole a car and sped through downtown Seoul were caught by the police.

According to the police on the 27th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul booked two individuals, elementary school student A (12) and middle school student B (13), on charges including special theft and driving without a license at around 2:30 a.m. that day.

They are accused of stealing a vehicle in Yeongdeungpo-gu and then speeding through the areas of Yongsan-gu, Seocho-gu, and Gangnam-gu in Seoul.

After receiving a 112 report about a "suspected drunk driving vehicle," the police pursued the vehicle driven by A and others. A and the others ignored the police's request to stop and dangerously sped through the roads, crossing lanes, until they were blocked by a police patrol car near Apgujeong-ro in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. They got out of the car and tried to flee but were caught by the police.

Besides A and B, there were two more teenagers in the back seat of the car, but they are known not to have participated in the theft. The police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the crime with A and B.
