Ministry of the Interior and Safety Selects 3 Projects for 'Resident Life Innovation Case Expansion Support Project,' Secures 70 Million Won Special Subsidy

Urban One-Pyeong Garden, Perfect Solution for Road Water Pooling, and Establishment of One-

[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang County has come one step closer to establishing an innovation model that residents can feel and empathize with, as three projects were selected in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘Resident Life Innovation Case Expansion Support Project’ contest.

According to the county on the 27th, three projects were selected in the ‘2021 Resident Life Innovation Case Expansion Support Project’ contest hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing a special grant of 70 million KRW.

The ‘Resident Life Innovation Case Expansion Support Project’ is a program in which the Ministry of the Interior and Safety selects excellent cities and counties through a public contest among local governments wishing to adopt outstanding innovation cases that have been discovered through various evaluations and competitions and are capable of nationwide expansion, and provides support.

The selected projects are ▲ One-Pyeong Garden in the City Center (20 million KRW) ▲ Perfect Solution for Road Water Pooling (30 million KRW) ▲ Establishment of a ONE-STOP Cadastral Administration System (20 million KRW), totaling three projects.

The county plans to strengthen the local community through gardens cultivated by residents in connection with the ‘Korea Garden Culture Center’ as part of the One-Pyeong Garden creation project in the city center.

Also, through the ‘Perfect Solution for Road Water Pooling Project,’ it aims to alleviate the inconvenience of road users caused by water pooling and reduce the risk of traffic accidents. The ‘Establishment of a ONE-STOP Cadastral Administration System’ will resolve residents’ inconveniences who previously had to visit each department in person to handle land development permits, construction, cadastral, taxation, and land transfers such as subdivision and land category changes.

Meanwhile, in May, the county has been promoting ‘Damyang-style Green New Deal Policy for Realizing Life, Inclusion, and Future of Damyang,’ based on which it is discovering and implementing ‘Damyang County Innovation Tasks’ tailored to local characteristics to strengthen cultural, social, and universal values and to alleviate residents’ inconveniences and improve benefits.

The discovered tasks focus administrative power on realizing ‘a happy city Damyang where residents’ lives change through participation and trust’ with a total of 66 innovation tasks in three areas: resident participation (cooperation), public services, and working methods.
